Petrol, diesel prices jump by about Rs 2 this year. 5 things to know

A litre of petrol now costs Rs 70.47 a litre in Delhi, Rs 70.34 in Noida, Rs 71.37 in Gurgaon, Rs 76.11 in Mumbai, Rs 72.79 in Bangalore and Rs 73.15 in Chennai. Since January 1, the price of petrol has swelled by Rs 1.82 and that of diesel by Rs 2.12. The price rise began from January 7.
