SC says election panel to decide on Maha bypolls

The Supreme Court has said the August 11 notification issued by the Maharashtra chief secretary prohibiting local body by-elections “will be no impediment for the state election commission (SEC) to proceed to take appropriate decision in accordance with the law”.
